About this event

Platypus have returned to Royal National Park, after being locally extinct for 50 years!

Launched in 2023 by NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), Taronga Conservation Society Australia, UNSW Sydney and WWF-Australia, learn about this cricual translocation program.

We’ll be joined by WWF-Australia Rewilding Program Manager, Rob Brewster, who will discuss how the project team re-introduced platypus into the park amid threats from habitat destruction and fragmentation and how the project will move beyond just protecting the iconic species and restoring what we’ve lost.
