About this event

What to expect

Starting in Wahroonga, this track follows Cockle Creek down to Bobbin Head in the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. There are a number of great waterviews and wildflowers to admire. The lower section of the walk follows a boardwalk, getting up close to the mangrove wildlife.

Guide Bob Conroy will talk about vegetation communities, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage.

This is a guided group walk, all registered walkers must stay with the group for the full duration of the walk. It is an 8km Grade 3 (moderately difficult) walk. Good levels of fitness and bushwalking experience is recommended.

What to bring

Please BYO snacks and at least 2 litres of water. Dress for the weather conditions in outdoor walking clothes, closed toe walking shoes, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and weatherproof jacket. You may wish to bring binoculars for birdwatching.

Special instructions

The event will go ahead in light rain conditions. In the event of extreme weather the walk will be cancelled and registered walkers will be notified.
