About this event

Join Diego Bonetto, renowned forager and author of best-selling book Eat Weeds, for a 1-hour guided tour through the bushland of Lizard Log, where you will be introduced to the wonders of edible weeds.

Learn about common plants growing in your garden, parks, and reserves, such as plantain, dandelion, chickweed and sow-thistle. Many of these plants are often seen as weeds but to others they are a delicious salad or a seasonal treat. Discover how these plants have been used for food, crafts, and natural remedies

Learn safe ways to harvest urban ‘wild’ plants and enrich your diet with vitamins and minerals.

This program is suitable for children aged from 5 years.

About Diego Bonetto:

Diego is an edible weeds advocate based in Sydney, famous for his urban foraging workshops. Drawing on his knowledge from growing up on a farm in Italy, he introduces children to the food and medicinal plants around us.
