Clean Up Australia Day: Cooks River

Join us at Ewen Park for a morning of action to help protect the Cooks River!

Streamwatch and Cooks River Alliance are teaming up with Clean Up Australia to host a community clean-up event. This is your chance to learn more about the health of the Cooks River and take meaningful action to reduce pollution in this important waterway.

Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Sunday, March 2, 2025

Parking & Transport

Parking is available at Ewen park and nearby streets. Hurlstone Park Station is a 11-minute walk.

Agenda

We’ll kick off at 9:00 AM with sign-in, where you’ll collect gloves and bags provided by Clean Up Australia. After a short safety briefing, we’ll walk along the river, collecting litter to help improve water quality and protect local wildlife.

At 10:40 AM, we’ll take a break for free morning tea , then sort and count what we’ve collected to better understand our impact.

What to Bring:

• Hat
• Sunscreen
• Water
• Comfortable walking shoes
• (Optional) Gumboots for wet areas
• A friend to join in the fun
