About this event

Compost and Worm Farms- Community Environment Centre volunteers Chris and Claude

Celebrate Compost Awareness week and explore, learn, and discover with Community Environment Centre Volunteers Chris and Claude on how to set up and look after a compost bin or worm farm in your backyard! Recycling food waste is a great way of ensuring that your food scraps don’t end up in landfill. Compost and worm castings are an excellent addition to the soil in your garden and can help your plants to grow and flourish! Investigate the different composting options available by taking a tour around our community compost bins and vegetable garden and see our giant worm farm. Learn further about how to fix compost systems that aren’t working or learn how to prevent problems in setting up a sustainable green compost and worm farm. This workshop is supported by The Hills Shire Council Resource Recovery Team.

Location and Parking: The Community Environment Centre is located on Currie Avenue of Annangrove Road, Annangrove. The Centre is found at the rear of Annangrove Park in the car park.

What to Bring: Please bring pen and paper if you wish to take notes. Please also wear a hat, enclosed shoes, long pants, and sunscreen as part of this workshop will take place outside in the gardens.

Important Information: Workshops are only available to residents of The Hills Shire. Please note a ticket must be booked per person that attends. One ticket can’t be used for multiple people e.g. a family. This workshop is recommended for adults, families, and children over 5 years.

Please note we have limited numbers for this workshop. If you book a spot and can no longer attend, please cancel your booking with as much notice as possible so you are not taking up a spot for someone else. We have an active waitlist.
