About this event
Love bees, birds and butterflies? Come along to make homes for blue-banded bees and learn about your backyard!
A great school holiday activity for children six years and older!
Love bees, birds and butterflies?
Come along to Bankstown Library on Monday, July 7th (11 am to 12.30am) to make homes for Blue-banded bees and design a beautiful garden haven for our special pollinators.
Author Dr Judy Friedlander (The Bee Squad: Boosting Biodiversity in your Neighbourhood) will talk about how children around Australia are taking charge, learning about amazing native species and the ways to protect them.
The inspirational and gold star reviewed The Bee Squad book shows children how to put together a nature sleuth toolkit, what to plant, how to be an ace nature photographer, illustrator and citizen scientist, what it’s like to be a bee, butterfly or other pollinator, and more.
Participants will be awarded a Bee Squad Biodiversity Champion certificate and take home their special Blue-banded bee home and garden design.
