Grow Our Own Food (GOOF) Spring 2025

GOOF (Grow Our Own Food) is a series of 5 workshops on how to grow food sustainably, cleanly and productively. You can apply what you learn to balconies, backyards, community gardens or local schools. The interactive workshops are a mix of useful information and practical strategies with lots of resources to refer to later.

GOOF will show you how to design, set up and run your own sustainable garden in alignment with the Ethics and Principles of Permaculture which are based on the cycles of nature.

The GOOF series is generously sponsored by the City of Parramatta and will be be held in Northmead, NSW. The exact address will be sent once your register.

GOOF Spring is a live, 3.5 hr workshop over 5 Saturdays from 0830 – 1200.

Each workshop is a mix of captivating information and practical experiences which build on and complement each other.

Your fee covers all 5 sessions and includes:17.5 hours of interactive lecture/discussion/ practical activities; a PDF copy of the slide deck used by the presenters; references and resource list, activities for you to try out between each workshop.

The GOOF series is presented by knowledgeable and experienced permaculture teachers who live the ethics and principles of Permaculture in their own home and community

The 5 topics are:

1. Intro to Permaculture. Applying Earth’s natural cycles to your site.
2. Soils. Make and Re-generate healthy, fertile soil, compost and garden beds.
3. Plants. Select, Grow, Protect and Harvest the right plants for your site and taste.
4. Seeds. Collect, Clean, Store & Sow Seeds for next year and ever after.
5. Year-Round Food. Seasonal Planting and Natural Pest Management
