Kal Glanznig Film preview (special decision-makers cut) with Special Guest Tim Silverwood, co-founder of Take 3 for the Sea
Kal Glanznig, one of Australia’s leading youth ocean, Ocean Lovers Ambassador and climate champions, is set to launch his new documentary film – coming very soon. The preview will be a special decision-makers cutdown version of the film
As part of his upcoming film release, Kal will share a special decision makers cutdown of the film at the Ocean Lovers Festival, bringing his storytelling and advocacy to the heart of Australia’s biggest celebration of ocean culture and conservation, followed by a panel discussion with some of Sydney’s brightest and most influential minds to discuss our plastic crisis.
Known for his powerful voice on environmental action, Kal has spoken at TEDx and the United Nations Climate Change COPs, and is the creator of RISING UP. His impact spans from leading a $100,000, 100kW solar project in high school, to co-founding Plastic Free Cronulla, which helped secure a ban on single-use plastics, and co-creating the Blue Minds program to tackle youth eco-anxiety. Named Sutherland Shire Young Australian of the Year (2020) and Environmental Citizen of the Year (2023), Kal continues to inspire a new generation of ocean leaders – both on screen and in the water.
Kal will be joined by Tim Silverwood, co-founder of Take 3 for the Sea and plastic pollution expert. With over 15 years experience in building and leading ocean conservation initiatives, Tim offers unique perspectives on shaping impactful campaigns and creating real world change. Tim will share a preview of a new short film series charting his return to Take 3 (after a 5 year break) and the organisation’s plans for the future.
