About this event
Step into the Garden for a guided walk exploring the remarkable Araucariaceae, an ancient family of conifers whose origins stretch back to the age of dinosaurs.
Wander through the living collection at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney as our friendly expert guides share stories of these striking trees — such as bunya pines, hoop pines and Norfolk Island pines — their deep evolutionary history, cultural significance, and the vital role they continue to play in forests and landscapes today.
At the end of the walk, you’ll receive a little gift to take home: a young tree to plant in your own garden. After all, there’s a saying about life’s milestones — write a book, plant a tree, raise a child.
Price
$45 Foundation & Friends member
$55 per person
We’re here to help you start with the tree. Take it home, plant it with care, and watch it grow alongside your own stories for years to come.
