National Tree Day – family picnic and planting

Celebrate National Tree Day with a Family picnic and planting day! Join us for a special community event celebrating National Tree Day and help to create a greener, healthier local environment.

This free, family-friendly activation invites residents to get involved in enhancing their local open space through hands-on planting activities while connecting with others in the community. Guided by Council horticulturists, participants will learn simple planting skills, contribute to local biodiversity and help beautify the park for future generations to enjoy. And takeaway a free plant for your own home!

Following the planting session, the event will continue with a relaxed community picnic and complimentary creative activity.

Complimentary hot drinks will be available for those who bring their own reusable cups. There will be a plant giveaway and families are encouraged to bring along their own picnic food, a blanket and enjoy quality time together in the park.

Check-in: please arrive 15 minutes before the event begins to register. Each participant is required to complete a waiver form.
