Learn to grow fresh food confidently in this free, practical, hands-on TAFE NSW course. Grow your own fresh produce with confidence in this free, practical TAFE NSW course held at the Addison Road Community Garden. Across 15 weeks, you’ll take part in hands-on gardening activities covering plant propagation, garden-bed preparation, basic plant biology, composting, soil testing, plant identification, organic pest management and ongoing plant care. The course is suitable for beginners, including people with limited growing space, and will help you develop the skills and confidence to grow food at home, participate in a community garden or take the next step towards further study in horticulture. Classes run every Monday from 9am to 1pm, from 10 August to 30 November 2026, with a two-week break during the school holidays. The course is fee-free for eligible students, including Australian and New Zealand citizens, permanent residents and humanitarian visa holders. Places are limited. Enrol through the booking link.
