About this event
Join Aunty Leanne on this relaxed walk to learn how local Aboriginal groups survived and thrived in the Parramatta region. Discover ongoing connections to Country.
The Dharug people are Parramatta’s first people and the traditional keepers of this land. Parramatta’s name comes from their word “burramatta, meaning “the place of eels”.
This easy walk in beautiful Parramatta Park and along the Parramatta River is a wonderful opportunity to spend time on Country with Aunty Leanne.
Hear about connections to land, plant uses, tools, hunting, weaving and many other aspects of local Indigenous culture.
This 2 hour walk is free, however, registrations are required.
