About this event

The 2026 conference returns with the critical theme “Building Capacity Before the Crisis.”
It’s a vital gathering for anyone involved in disaster response, moving the conversation from reactive rescue to proactive preparation.
You’ll hear from experts across emergency services and animal welfare sectors, sharing real-world lessons on how to better protect animals during floods, fires, and other crises.
Expect a day of heavy-impact learning and networking that directly strengthens NSW’s disaster resilience.

Who it’s for: Emergency responders, animal welfare professionals, government agencies, wildlife carers, and policy makers.

What to expect: A modern, purpose-built education facility with high-quality AV and comfortable conference spaces. The venue is co-located with the active shelter, so you are right in the heart of the mission. [8, 9]
