Join us to learn the basics of keeping chickens at home for fresh eggs every day.
We’ll cover: Council regulations for your area, choosing or building a coop, picking the right chicken breed for your family, and spotting common issues.
Facilitator:
Known by many as The Veggie Lady, Toni Salter is a horticulturist with a passion to see organic gardening adopted by everyone, encouraging people everywhere to grow organic produce whether it’s in their backyard, community garden, in a disability day centre or aged care facility.
She has been teaching community education classes through various organisations and local councils around Sydney for over 25 years on topics such as veggie gardens, balcony gardenin
g, native & habitat gardening, house plants, waste education (composting & worm farming), sensory & therapeutic gardens among others.
Toni is a regular talk-back guest on ABC Radio Sydney, 702 Weekends with Simon Marnie.
She has been a key supporter of therapeutic gardening as a past President of the Horticultural Therapy Society of NSW (Cultivate NSW) and National Councillor with Australian Institute of Horticulture.
