About this event

Trees in peri-urban and rural areas that have been historically cleared, are often not old enough to have hollows. Tree hollows can take 100 years or more to form naturally. But we have a solution. With a qualified arborist and some very specialised equipment, we can make tree hollows to suit a wide range of animals.

We will be making tree hollows in a number of dead trees in Lin Gordon reserve. By carving into the solid wood of these trees, the hollows will last longer, be more insulated, and look more natural then a nest box.

Come and join us at Lin Gordon Reserve to watch Kai from Wild Tree Services explain the process and demonstrate how the hollows are constructed. W

ollondilly Shire Council Bushcare will be there with their new bushcare trailer. BirdLife Southern Highlands will talk about the incredible birdlife in this reserve. And Landcare will be there to keep you across the amazing activities going on in the Macarthur Region
