About this event

Give your child the perfect break from screen time with our Bushrangers program! Led by our experienced team, children will spend the day enjoying wildlife, bushcraft, outdoor challenges, games, and free play in the beautiful Centennial Parklands.

Designed to encourage outdoor exploration, the program promotes problem-solving, teamwork, and hands-on learning. This session will focus on the theme of ‘shelter,’ where children will build their own shelters using natural materials, then put them to the test with a water challenge. They’ll also take a walk around the park to discover how animals create their own shelters in the wild.

It’s an engaging, educational experience your child won’t want to miss!

Creative Kids vouchers accepted for this program.

Please provider voucher number, name, and DOB of your child in the booking process.

Note that the booking will be cancelled if an invalid voucher number is provided.

Things to know before you attend

Greater Sydney Parklands educators take observations during programs to ensure the overall nature play experience for all children is optimal. These are general observations where children are not identifiable, and are not asked questions or for opinions that will be directly quoted in any way. The observations are used for internal staff training and broader purposes such as conference presentations and educational publications.

Please come prepared, as this program will go ahead in all-weather unless it is unsafe to do so (for example, during high winds or thunderstorms). Children must wear enclosed shoes.

This is a drop-off program for children aged 5 – 12 years. Parents do not attend with children.

We reserve the right to cancel the event in case of dangerous weather or if minimum participation numbers are not met. In these circumstances a refund will be offered. Please refer to our full terms and conditions for more information.

What to bring to the event

Ensure your child comes prepared for this session by:

  • Bringing a refillable drink bottle
  • Bringing food for the day including lunch, morning tea, and afternoon tea
  • Dressing for the weather with sun protection (hat, sunscreen, cool clothing) and wet weather gear (raincoat, shoes and change of clothes)
  • Wearing enclosed footwear

Providing the Educator with a medical treatment plan and clearly labelled medicine (with the child’s name and instructions) at drop-off, should medication be required. Examples include EpiPen for anaphylaxis, asthma inhaler, or allergy medication.
