About this event

Join us to celebrate our local platypus population in The Hills this platypus month and learn and discover about how we can help protect our platypus population into the future!

Celebrate the launch of platypus month and learn more about how researchers from Western Sydney University and a local environment community group, Cattai Hills Environment Network (CHEN) discovered platypus, what we are doing now to help preserve this population, and how you can get involved! Learn about the story of ‘Bluey’ the platypus and dive deep into interesting facts about our iconic and unique platypus population and current research work to help protect this species. During this special workshop, you will learn about platypus biology, threats and habitat and delve into what you can do to help the platypus in your own backyard and community. This workshop is supported by CHEN and Hawkesbury Nepean Landcare Network.

Location and Parking: The Community Environment Centre is located on Currie Avenue of Annangrove Road, Annangrove. The Centre is found at the rear of Annangrove Park in the car park. This workshop will take place in Annangrove hall next to the centre.

What to Bring: Please bring pen and paper if you wish to take notes.

Important Information: Workshops are only available to residents of The Hills Shire. Please note a ticket must be booked per person that attends. One ticket can’t be used for multiple people e.g. a family. This workshop is recommended for adults, families, and children over 5 years.
