Compost Giveaway Auburn Community Picnic Ground

Cumberland City Council is holding annual Kitchen 2 Gardens compost giveaway program aimed at educating households on ways to reduce food and packaging waste by encouraging gardening and growing vegetables at home.

Council is giving away 2 x 25 L compost bags and vegetable seeds packets to Cumberland residents.

Two (2) timeslots on Saturday 14 June 2025 are available for collection of your free compost bags and vegetable seeds.

• 9:00 am – 11:00 am
• 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

Bookings are strictly limited to residents of Cumberland City Council. Bookings are limited to 1 per household.

NOTE: This will be a ‘drive through’ event where residents simply drive into the Auburn Community Picnic Ground (Entry via Killeen Street) to collect their two compost bags and vegetable seeds. Council staff will assist residents placing items into their cars. To reduce wait times in the drive through, we ask that residents stick to their allocated booking timeslots.

You MUST bring your registration confirmation on the collection day.
