About this event

Teaming up with Bayside Council and NSW Ports, we’re on a mission to boost the climate resilience of Sir Joseph Banks Park – a vital natural refuge nestled within the bustling suburbs of Botany!

As cities heat up and green spaces dwindle, it’s never been a better time to step up and safeguard this natural gem for both nature and the local community.

Sir Joseph Banks Park plays a pivotal role as an urban sanctuary – a bustling hub for native plants and animals such as the Yellow-tailed black cockatoo, ringtail possums and eastern long-necked turtles. Historically, the park has faced significant environmental degradation, so we are here to give it a helping hand.

Through this project, we’re undertaking a range of activities, including removing weeds, planting native species, constructing nest boxes, litter collection or wildlife monitoring.

So, grab your gardening gloves and join us as we keep Sir Joseph Banks Park resilient, biodiverse, and thriving!

Proudly supported by NSW Ports.
