About this event

Discover one of the hidden gems of Sydney’s North Shore. Eryldene is the former home of Professor E.G. Waterhouse and his family. The house was built, and its garden created, early last century. In these very special gardens is where you will find one of Australia’s most important collections of camellias. Professor Waterhouse was internationally recognised for his huge contribution to the “camellia world.” He and his family lived in the house until his death in 1977. The Eryldene Trust now opens the garden for events and tours. Take a tour of the garden with one of our informative guides, learn how the garden was created, and hear how we are adapting to a changing climate. Absorb gardening tips from our volunteer gardeners and enjoy a home-made morning tea or coffee in the loggia.
