About this event

Join us for a hands-on workshop where you’ll learn to explore and document the wild world around you using the iNaturalist app !

Whether you’re a curious beginner or a nature enthusiast, this session will equip you with the skills to identify and photograph plants, animals, and other organisms in your local environment.

What to Expect: A short presentation on how to use the iNaturalist app on your mobile phone

A guided walk through the beautiful bushland in Pennant Hills Park (Mambara track) to practise nature observations.

Tips on how to participate in the Great Southern Bioblitz — a global event to record biodiversity from Friday 24 to Monday 27 October 2025.

What to Bring:

  • iNaturalist app installed on your phone
  • A bottle of drinking water
  • A hat and sturdy footwear for the bushwalk

By the end of the workshop, you’ll be ready to join a global community of citizen scientists and contribute to real-world biodiversity research — all while enjoying the great outdoors!
