About this event
Volunteers will kayak and raft to select locations around Lake Parramatta to treat a variety of riparian weeds including Senna, Ludwidgia, Asparagus fern, Ochna, Tarro and Japanese Honeysuckle.
Hand weeding of seedlings and some herbicide treatment required.
Please wear enclosed shoes that can get wet – possibly gum boots, however, be aware you maybe wading in knee-deep water. Wear a long-sleeved shirt, a hat, and sun protection. Bring a change of clothes in case you get wet.
Morning tea will be provided.
BYO lunch and drinking water, kiosk available if you’d like to enjoy a picnic afterwards. Toilet facilities available.
Community bus transport from North Sydney Council and Waverton Train Station will be provided.
No paid parking. Note, parking is difficult to find after 8am.
