National Tree Day – Blacktown

This event, facilitated nationally by Planet Ark has grown into Australia’s largest tree planting and nature care event. It’s a call to action for all Australians to put their hands in the earth and give back to nature and their community.

Planet Ark is asking Australians to help plant one million native trees. Council is inviting the community to get involved and help plant 12,500 local native plants across 5 sites in the Blacktown area.

The below Blacktown City sites will be registered with Planet Ark and promoted widely for residents who wish to participate.

Register to participate at Planet Ark National Tree Day website. Find a site near you – National Tree Day and search “Blacktown”. The event runs from 9 am to noon. Council will provide plants, tools, gloves and planting demonstrations at the event.

Participants must wear closed in shoes, advised to wear a hat, long pants and long-sleeved shirts. Groups of more than 20 people wishing to be involved should contact Council to accommodate large groups.

In addition, Schools Tree Day is on Friday 25 July 2025. Council will provide 20 free plants to schools and community groups who register a tree planting event through Planet Ark in 2024.
