About this event
Discover one of the hidden gems of Sydney’s North Shore. Eryldene is the former home of Professor E.G.Waterhouse and his family.
The house was built and it’s garden created early last century and there you will find one of Australia’s most important collections of camellias. Professor Waterhouse was internationally recognised for his huge contribution to the “camellia world” and lived in the house until his death in 1977. The Eryldene Trust now opens the house and garden for events and tours.
Take a tour with one of the garden volunteers and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee afterwards.
Learn about how we’re adapting our garden to cope with the changing climate.
Tour times are 10.30am and 11.30am.
Children under 12 are free.
Get involved with Eryldene : Eryldene Historic House and Garden receives NO on-going government funding – which means we rely entirely on the support of our community. The support and generosity of our Ticketholders, Members and Volunteers is vital during our ongoing recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic. With your help, we will be able to conserve the house, sustain our camellia collection, maintain our events programme, and in doing so, safeguard Eryldene for future generations.
