Platypus talk and Waterbug Activity

Help Council and Bushcare volunteers remove invasive weeds along the Cattai Creek Catchment and plant native species suitable to support a platypus habitat. Hear from researchers with Western Sydney University about platypus in The Hills and learn about the community water quality monitoring, Streamwatch, and waterbug program.

Location and Parking: Street parking will be available on Connelly Way. We’ll meet at the entrance to Cattai Creek (approx. 36 Connelly Way on the grass near plantings). Please see the attached image for reference.

What to Wear: Please bring a hat, sunscreen, drinking water and wear long pants and enclosed shoes.

Important Information: This guided Bushcare and community event does include some physical activities, working near waterways and some steep slopes. We recommend people who take part in this event are of moderate fitness. This event is not suitable for children under 5 years. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements for the catered BBQ lunch. Please note this event is only available to residents of The Hills Shire.

Event Attendance Policy: If you can’t attend the event, please cancel your ticket at least 12 hours in advance. No-shows or late cancellations may result in loss of future booking privileges.
