Using Native Edibles in Cooking

Would you like to learn how to integrate native edible plants into your cooking? Do you want to create unique recipes using natives? Come along to this show and tell workshop, learning about ways to cook and use native edibles in your everyday recipes or special treats!

Community Environment Centre volunteers and cooking extraordinaries Linda and Lynn will teach you some methods on how to use native edibles in your cooking, show samples and share some tips and tricks.

This workshop will involve some samples of natives used in seasoning, cooking or treats and sharing of recipes. After the workshop, there will be a native edible morning tea.

Location and Parking: The Community Environment Centre is located on Currie Avenue, off Annangrove Road, Annangrove. The Centre is found at the rear of Annangrove Park in the car park. This workshop will take place in Annangrove Hall next to the centre.

What to Bring: Please bring a pen and paper if you wish to take notes. Please also wear a hat, enclosed shoes, long pants, and sunscreen as part of this workshop will take place outside in the gardens.

Important Information: There will be a native edible morning tea after the presentation. Please contact the Environmental Education Officer ([email protected]) with any dietary requirements. Workshops are only available to residents of The Hills Shire.
