About this event

Did you know Australia is home to many unique frogs found nowhere else in the world? Unfortunately, some of these incredible species are at risk of extinction. To help them, we need to understand more about where they are and how they’re doing. You can make a difference with FrogID, a free app that allows you to record frog calls for conservation.

Join us to discover the importance of frogs and how their presence indicates a healthy environment. We’ll introduce you to FrogID, explain how it works and discuss its impact on understanding of frog populations across Australia.

FrogID Week (8-17 November 2024) is an annual event where Willoughby residents can join a nationwide effort to record frog calls. During this week, contributions are crucial as thousands of Australians collect valuable data to help scientists track frog populations, understand their distribution, and develop conservation strategies. You’ll play an important role as a FrogID citizen scientist in protecting these fascinating creatures and ensuring their survival for future generations.

This event is presented by the Australian Museum.
