About this event
Enjoy a morning walk, spot and listen to the birds, hear some local history and the regeneration work undertaken by the BWSP volunteers.
Did you know more than 110 bird species have been identified within BWSP?
Enjoy a morning leisurely walk in the northern area of the park, spot and listen to some of these feathered friends and hear some local history with local bird guides ,led by Grahame Feletti, and BWSP staff. A light morning tea will be provided at the end and include a short talk by BWSP volunteers.
Afterwards there is an opportunity for participants to visit the adjoining Trees In Newcastle nursery to see what local plants can be grown to attract some of the species you have observed.
General level of fitness required – approx 3km walk along dirt tracks with uneven surfaces and tree roots. This event is unsuitable for people with mobility aids.
This activity is in partnership with Belmont Wetlands State Park and supported by Hunter Bird Observers Club.
Important participant requirements:
– This event is free – but all attendees require a ticket.
– Please wear fully enclosed shoes, hat, and mosquito protective clothing (long sleeve top and pants)
– Bring a water bottle and pencil/pen and binoculars if you have them.
– This activity takes place on unsurfaced and uneven tracks and is not suitable for people with mobility issues.
– Please provide your mobile number so we can SMS you with an event reminder and/or advise of cancellation. This is the only purpose your number will be used for.
