About this event

Connect with your local environment and wildlife through a guided nature walk and learn about habitat and bushland conservation through a guided Bushcare session with the local Stevenson Creek Reserve Bushcare group.

Stevenson’s Creek is named after the Principal of Baulkham Hills Public School, Jack Stevenson, who used to take his students into the hidden valley behind the school to teach them about the local bushland.

On this guided walk and Bushcare session, we will retrace his steps.

One of the highlights is a sandstone overhang where evidence of Aboriginal occupation has been discovered.

Learn of the local history, heritage, and wildlife in your area! A catered BBQ lunch will be provided at the end of the event.

Meeting Point: Meet at Cook Street Baulkham Hills, approx. 29 Cook Street, park at Carrabai Place or Willow Drive.

What to Bring: Please bring a hat, sunscreen, drinking water and wear long pants and enclosed shoes.

Please note this event is only available to residents of The Hills Shire.

Please be aware we have limited numbers for this event. If you book a spot and can no longer attend, please cancel your booking with as much notice as possible so you are not taking up a spot for someone else. We have an active waitlist.

This guided walk is approximately one km long, rugged and steep in places and includes two creek crossings. We recommend people who take part in this event are of high-moderate fitness.

This event is not suitable for children under 5 years.

Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements for the catered BBQ lunch.
