About this event

Australia has a remarkable native bee fauna, with a large number of endemic species.

Among those are the incredible stingless bees: native social bees that live in colonies of tens of thousands of workers and produce honey, similar to European honey bees.

In this talk Dr Ros Gloag will give an overview of Australia’s native bees and why they are important to our ecosystems and our agriculture.

Ros will also talk about new research on our native stingless bees that is shedding light on their remarkable behaviours and ecology.
