George Kendall Riverside Park, Spofforth Street, Ermington NSW, Australia
About this event
Join us by Parramatta River on Saturday 16th September and see the immediate positive difference you can make to the health and beauty of our river!
To celebrate World Clean Up Day, we’re ridding the river of rubbish along the Ermington foreshore at George Kendall Riverside Park with the help of Parramatta River Catchment Group, Clean Up Australia, Jerome Laxale Federal MP for Bennelong and Donna Davis State MP for Parramatta.
Bring yourself and your family/ friends, wearing enclosed shoes you’re happy to get dirty, long sleeves and pants – and we’ll provide all the necessary equipment, including gloves and bags.
Together, we’ll make light work of cleaning up a heap of rubbish…. whether you can join us for 10mins or 60mins, it all helps and you’ll leave feeling great for your efforts!
Since May 2020, we’ve removed 300 BIG bags of rubbish plus a heap of large items – that’s over a tonne of rubbish no longer polluting our waterways, washing up on beaches and harming wildlife!
Note: the clean up event will be spread over a few hundred metres with plenty of room for families to spread out, with the option of cleaning up along the seawall amongst the mangroves or along the path/ parks leading up to Cafe W and Silverwater Bridge.
The meeting point will be along the main path in George Kendall Riverside Park, opposite the baseball nets and near the entrance to the park from the end of Broadoaks Street.
