About this event
All guided bushwalks are for Hornsby Shire residents only.
Leaving Crosslands Reserve, we follow the estuary upstream to its tidal limit at Rockyfall Rapids. When the water is clear, we often spot fish such as bream and mullet (watch for those surface splashes!). Passing through majestic stands of ancient trees and secret pockets of rainforest, it’s not uncommon to encounter lyrebirds along this part of the Great North Walk track.
Walk grade: 2.5 (easy to moderately challenging) – sections of trail are hilly, steep and rough.
Suitability: This walk contains a few sections of trail that are rough and some short climbs. It is suitable for adults and teenagers (13-19 years) with no bushwalking experience and a basic to moderate level of fitness. Not suitable for children.
Supervision: Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Please note: Mobile reception is unreliable on this walk.
