This project is funded by the Australian Government’s Natural Heritage Trust under the Urban Rivers and Catchments Program, with the support of Big Blue Ocean Foundation

With the construction of new shellfish reefs at Taren Point and Audrey Bay commencing soon, we are providing an opportunity for you to hear more about this exciting project. We’ll provide information about upcoming works and next steps, and we’ll leave plenty of time for you to ask questions.

We will also have a presentation from the Georges Riverkeeper to hear more about their important work in the catchment.

Shellfish reef habitats provide a wide range of benefits for people and nature by providing nurseries for fish to breed, improving water quality, and by providing local jobs and volunteer opportunities. This project will build on the 62 hectares of shellfish reefs TNC and partners have restored around Australia since 2017, as we work to bring back these ecosystems from the brink of extinction.
