About this event
If you have a passion for the outdoors and would you like to know more about our local waterways, birds, insects, plants and wildlife, come along and join our Smith’s Creek Bushcare volunteer group.
You will also pick up some new skills along the way.
Smith’s Creek is a large wildlife corridor that runs through the heart of Campbelltown. It supports an important stand of Shale-Sandstone Transition Forest known for its populations of koalas and bird species like the endangered gang-gang cockatoo.
Our bushcare work here focuses on rehabilitating the weed-impacted bushland along the reserves tributary creeks of Worrell Park and Cook Reserve, alternating between the two sites as necessary.
As a Bushcare volunteer, you will do your part for the environment while rubbing shoulders with interesting and like-minded people. Bushcare groups participate in activities such as tree planting, erosion control, litter removal, weed management and of course, wildlife spotting.
No experience is necessary to attend these events, as we will provide you with all the training you need.
