About this event

Spring has sprung! Join us for an enjoyable walk through Harold Reid Reserve as we explore its history and biodiversity.

The reserve is 42.7 hectares in size, making it Willoughby’s second largest bushland reserve which connects with the largest, North Arm Reserve, forming a continuous habitat link to the north and also to the south with the Castlecrag Northern Escarpment.

Bushwalk details

  • Bushwalk starts at 9:30am and ends at 11:30am.
  • Important: there are two types of tickets, please register for only one of the following:
  1. Minibus pick-up: Please meet at Dougherty Centre Carpark at 9am (7 Victor St, Chatswood).
  2. Meet-at Harold Reid Reserve: Meet at the reserve entrance, 42 North Arm Road, Middle Cove.
  • Limited bus pick-up will be available at the Dougherty Community Centre carpark area (7 Victor Street, Chatswood). Bookings required. The bus will arrive at 9am. After the walk, you will be driven back to the same pick-up point.
  • Bring a hat, sunscreen and water.
  • Must be fit enough to walk for up to 2 hours with some rest during the walk.
  • They’ll be some steps and uneven surfaces. Please consider if you are able to do this walk, especially if you have mobility constraints or recently had surgery.
  • We will aim to be back at North Arm Road around 11.15am, where we will drive up to the top of the reserve for morning tea.
  • Morning tea will be provided around 11:30am (tea, coffee and biscuits).
  • For those catching the minibus we’ll aim to leave by 12pm be back at the Dougherty Community Centre by 12:30pm.
  • No young children or pets allowed.
  • Children 12+ years old can attend the walk and must be accompanied by an adult. Parents are require register them for the walk.
  • Comply with current COVID-19 restrictions.
  • These walks are very popular and fill up fast. If you can no longer attend, please cancel your ticket of that others may join.
  • If you are booking on behalf of someone else, please ensure they have read the bushwalk details beforehand.

Note: These walks are intended for the MOSAIC community groups, though spots do open to the public if available.
