About this event

In collaboration with Serene Forest Therapy , Nature Being invites you to slow down, relax and connect with nature.

Join us on a guided Forest Bathing walk in the joyful presence of the Rose Gums, Centennial Park. Allow yourself to unwind and relax into the soothing atmosphere of nature. Let go of any pressures or tensions as we gently guide you to re-ignite your connection with nature.

Forest Bathing comes from a Japanese public health practice called ‘Shinrin-yoku’. Known in Australia as Forest Bathing or Forest Therapy, it is an evidence based public health practice of guided immersion in nature. Forest Therapy is an enjoyable and gentle technique to support our physical and mental wellbeing.

During a Forest Therapy walk you will be invited to engage with nature through sensory, creative and gentle physical pathways. Enhancing your connection with nature, allowing yourself to be in the moment as you wander in a stress-free environment.

The Forest Therapy walk concludes with a Japanese inspired tea ceremony.

This is a 3 hour guided Forest Therapy experience. It is suitable to anyone over the age of 12 years. Participants should be able to walk at a slow pace, and mostly we go over gentle terrain. Moderate fitness levels are required. There is some sitting on the ground.

Things to bring on a walk

A small day pack with water, snacks, sunblock, sanitiser, insect repellent and personal medications with you is recommended, for the trail.

Dress appropriately for the weather, wearing a waterproof outer layer, and closed, sturdy shoes, trousers optional. Don’t forget to bring a hat.

If you want to sit on the ground feel free to bring something to sit on a light fold up stool, chair, waterproof barrier, or blanket. I suggest a small back pack as you will want your hands free to fully engage in nature.

The event will go ahead even in rainy weather. If we need to cancel due to inclement weather, or notifications from council or parks authorities, you will be notified either before or on the morning by 8:00 am. Please ensure mobile contact is provided to allow confirmation text to be sent.
